To save on cost, Coventry offers its residents a free mattress disposal option where upon showing your proof of residency, residents can drop their mattress or bed to Coventry’s only mattress recycling facility located in Bar Road (CV3 4AN).

Booking your mattress disposal is required online and once you have selected your time slot you’re all set.

If you haven’t taken an old mattress in your car before, a little Pythagoras would be required to estimate the size of your mattress or bed and the interior space of your vehicle. 

It may have to be a lonely journey however as there may be no space for passengers.

Car seats would have to be folded so do ensure yours allow this.

If your car is not really a bundle of joy to you, then you won’t mind the interior getting prone to scratches or damage with any divan bases.

If you feel scrunching up your mattress into your car is not for you, Coventry City Council does offer a bulky waste mattress collection service.

It’s an affordable option where after registering your account on their website which literally takes a few minutes only, you can pay a small fee  to have your mattress collected.

The pick up time is fairly reasonable too where usually a 3 to 5 days window is offered.

There is a prerequisite Coventry City Council have stipulated on their bulky waste collection online booking  page that mattresses must not have any ‘’bodily fluids’’.

You may not want to have your laundry placed in view of neighbours on this one!
